Great post Nicolette! I agree, azaleas are adorable. I wonder if the sakura flower (the cherry blossom) is easy to grow; it is such a beautiful flower!! I think a gazebo -if there is enough space for it- is also perfect for a garden, whether Japanese or not, specially next -better if over- an artificial lake. Oh! Nearly forgot! And some colorful fish too!
A thought: Isn’t it mental how the Japanese artificially created those spectacular gardens to represent -maybe to dominate as well- nature? The way they rationally organized their gardens and it structure for piece of mind but never making it look cold or organized, because the disposition is never geometrical. I bet Ralph Waldo Emerson was quite fond of Japanese gardens!
